We saw these Thursday night on-court, followed by some pictures early Friday. The reaction thusfar has been decidedly positive, so let’s take a closer look. The Nike Zoom Kobe IV Finals Edition is notable for a few reasons. First, they feature the ‘concord’ shade of purple rather than the usual varsity purple, intended to provide some extra energy for this last playoff push. Gold accents like the tongue tag and outsole represent the quest for this year’s Larry O’Brien Trophy, and include the shoe’s most unique feature. In addition to the 61 points he scored at MSG this winter, we see ‘399′ reminding us of KB24’s assist total this year, plus plenty of other stats that helped lead the Lakers to the West’s number one seed. Given that these are white, it’s likely we’ll see a darker special edition come game 3 on Monday, so stick with Sneaker News for updates. via NiceKicks
He and the Lakers thoroughly dominated the Orlando Magic, and though Kobe Bryant scored forty and nearly had a triple-double, the more impressive show may have been on his feet. Pictured above is the special edition Nike Zoom Kobe IV that ‘the Black Mamba’ wore yesterday and will rock again during Saturday night’s Game 2 of the NBA Finals. The white and purple shoe has gold accents, but what makes this one special is the Sharpie-like scribbles on the ankle collar and toe. Most notable of these markings is the ‘61′ on the outer ankle, commemorating his prolific output at Madison Square Garden earlier this year. Take a look at the pics after the jump and check back with Sneaker News, because if there’s another special edition ZKIV for the later games, you know we’ll have it.
